SKATE FOR STEVE - RIP STEVE HOCK
07/16/2012

Our Friend Steve Hock has lost his battle with skin cancer. He passed away at 3:15pm on July 16th surrounded by Friends and Family. For those of you who followed Steve's openly candid journey on his Facebook page you know what a tough year that Man had. He fought as hard as any human could to stick around but in the end he was finally taken. Steve was only 31 years and leaves behind the most caring, tough, loving Family that any of us could ever hope for. Including 2 beautiful Kids. Dexter and Zoey. I would like to encourage you to take a few moments to browse Steve Hock's Page to see what a painful battle he endured. There were a few occasions throughout his ordeal where I had my finger on the hide button because it was almost too much to watch his struggle and pain but in the end I am glad I followed because not only was Steve an inspiration but it made me appreciate life. Every day we get out of bed is a good day and don't take any days for granted. One constant thing Steve always reminded us of was to wear sun block and get your shin checked. We have decided to make July 16th EVERY YEAR the official STEVE HOCK DAY at Skatelab. RIP Steve your buddies here at The Lab will remember you forever. If you can please make a donation to Help Steve's Kids Here

The original posting was on 1/19/2012 and remains below One of our good Friends and long time Lab Local, Steve Hock is going through a rough time and has cancer. We are all getting together to Shred and help raise some $ to help him and his 2 young Kids get through this. Live music and cool stuff happening all day.
